Paint Removal

Figured I'd ask this here, what is the best way to remove paint from the barrel of a rifle? You simply can't just paint over it so....

The green paint that is under the woods on an Enfield or the usual black paint from Canadian tire that "bubba" used to cover the rust so he could sell it?

a very good product I have used for removing the "bubba" paint or the varnished? finish on woods is Circa 1850 fine furniture finish remover. Spray on and let it bubble and take off with very fine steel wool .

It's paint that someone used to "tacticool/camo" the rifle's barrel

I was just about to start a thread on the same thing. I need to remove Krylon from an 870 receiver and barrel.

I wonder if CT has this "Circa 1850" that WT is talking about, sounds about what I might need.
