Do you guys use any primer at all?
So far filling the selector cut-out and build the dam for the op-rod spring guide pin is covered.
Most use 400-ish grit to prepare for painting.
The Fusion paints - superior on firerglass come in satin finishes - like the Krylon camo does? Anyone used them.....

Any finishes to protect the paint? Minwax?

Ant the end I want a short info about wich of you prefer the strap-on cheek rest rather than the R33 plastic one?
Cheers.

Clean, clean and then clean it some more. Make sure all grease, oil or silicone is wiped off. Strip old paint with Circa. Then prime. The results you get will depend greatly on how much time you put into the prep stage. Don't forget to seal with a matt clear.

Do all your filling/sanding/cheekrest drilling then clean with Acetone, laquer thinner, or Isoprohpyl alcohol.Mask off the stock ferrule and sling loop.

I use no name Cdn. Tire Grey fiberglass primer & Kyrlon Camo System spray paint.I spray the paint from the can into a jar, and then use it in my airbrush.I also use Testors Military Model paint.

After after the primer has dried, I give a light scuff with a scotchbrite pad and then spray the base coat.

Spray the pattern after 24 hours.

I use Excelcolor Vision Matte clearcoat after the paint cures.

Let the clearcoat cure for 7 days before reassembly/use.

SKBY.

The strap-on is a Blackhawk product about $40.00US. They won't deal or answer question's from us canucks. I think Alberta Tactical brings in their stuff...Bob

Sometimes, I'm truly amazed at the level of self control exhibited by the members of this forum.
