Paint techniques for the USGI

scout800, if you really and truly have your heart set on a strap on, check out Brownells. However, as SKBY warned, they do tend to move. You'll have to strap it tighter than a chastity belt and that's no guarantee. For the price you can't beat a Rooster33 adjustable. Either that or save some bucks and go for a Sage or a JAE100 for really adjustable stocks.

O.k. I have no more restraint. Strap ons can be bought at any ### shop and although they do move around a bit (even if you do strap them on tighter than a chasity belt), that's the whole point, isn't it?

It is my understanding that if you are doing long range shooting, you want everything to perform the same every time you pull the trigger. If so, than any type of gear that isn't bolted tightly to your firearm will cause you to loose accuracy. Strap on cheek pads will not do. Originally they were add on features to improve accuracy.

thanks Skullboy,
I'd have never found it without your help. It was somewhat hidden on bottom shelf. I tried Varthane and it sucks!!!
My stock is almost done now ;)
