You should post a picture of this. There is a collector Enfield that has a rubber butt pad. I believe it was issued to the Northern Rangers?

You might be messing with a collectors item here.

A green collectors item?:p

.... If painted then of course, paint remover is the way to go. If just restoring or cleaning up and otherwise complete SMLE, I use the Wifes' Dishwasher! " (obviously only when she's not around ! ) .... Marine Teak Cleaner is something else I've used, but it's really ugly stuff to work with! ..David K.

Coincidentally, "when she's not around" is also the best time to use the wife's oven for gently heating certain motorcycle engine crankcases, facilitating splitting the halves apart and pressing out the main bearings. (I'd rather not go into great detail about how I found this out, though.)

Here's a couple of after pics of Boer seun's Bubba'd (BUBAR'd :p ?) Enfield.

Thanks Echo

wood came out nice.

Why would anyone want to paint a rifle green.

I bought a win94 30-30 that was painted green with brown patches both wood and metal. Paint stripper worked good on the wood
