I bought these Carry lite super magnums about seven years ago and I don't really mind them. The only thing I didn't like is the front chest of the decoy is bright white. I can't help but think that this big stark white patch has scared away a few wary geese. Seeing as we are a month into the season now I thought I should do something about them as the geese are getting a little smarter. After doing some research on line I bought some kaki Krylon como paint and tried painting them a little darker. Here's the result. The decoy on the far left is completely covered. The decoy in the middle has a light coat on it and the one on the right is the original. I think I will give them all a light coat. The color is a bit on the brown side, but they didn't have a gray in Krylon camo. It is a very dull finish and that's the most important thing.

Any thoughts? Do they look better? Worse? Where they fine as they were? I'm was going to paint the rest tonight and use them tomorrow.

Looks way better!

Isn't it ridicules that they were that white to begin with?! It's just white plastic with no paint on it. I kept looking at them a half dozen times and decided to paint them all very lightly. lighter than the middle one in the picture. made a huge difference.

I think you did a good job in painting them...the darker one or the light spray I would say is 6 of one and a 1/2 dozen of the other but I like it a lot more then the white look.
Straight shooting when you get out.

I haf lots of geese fly pass all full spread of ffd to land next to some old carrylite shell that are all black with no paint left set at the corner of the spread.

I have also painted some heads in the past. I bought some standard G&H decoys off Kijiji a while back. There was 27 bodies and 14 heads. The heads were kind of worn out and a few were white front heads. I painted the heads completely with black Krylon camo and then brushed in the cheek patches with tremclad white. They have been out about 5 times now and are holding up good. I also repainted the bum patch on the shells.

The top is the original and the bottom is the White front and the middle is a repainted white front head.(Not sure I really had to point that out)

Awesome job l have purchased about 6 dozen lawn ornament geese from yard sales repainted like you and they look awesome yes the khaki looks good and works well but for the light gray the Crappy Tire gray primer is flat so no shine and it works just as well also!!! 👍
