I might have missed the thread on painting scopes but if not, let me hear how to do it.

I'm gearing up to paint my Savage and Nightforce and have gotten over the hesitation to paint the rifle (did my Rem. .300WM) so I figure I can do this one.

But the Nightforce??? How do I do it without getting paint in the turret or on the lens etc. and not leaving any sticky tape residue on it at all?

It's done all the time so somebody learn me.

Farmboy is on the hide...as mister Grim said Mask with Green paiters tape close the scope caps and have at er

I am getting ready to piant my Nightforce too

oh and you had better post pic's!!!

I use Green Painters tape and Black electrical tape for the turrets. The electrical tape stretches and forms better around odd shapes.I have never had a problem with electrical tape leaving any residue.

I usually paint scopes with the scope covers off and mask the lenses with cardboard cut to fit inside/over the glass and then sealed with tape..

Paint the Butler Creek scope caps with a "Plastic" paint (Like the Krylon "Fusion" paint) as regular Krylon scratchs/chips/flakes off the plastic rather easily.

Need any more help just PM me.;)

This one has a duracoated MK4 on it.I used an airbrush and just painted around anything I didn't want covered.
