Surface prep is the key to a durable finish........all parts to be painted must be free of oil/grease.......some finishes will need to be scuffed or sand blasted in order for paint/coatings to adhere.......... ;)

Some examples of paint jobs I have done over the years.......

I've only used Krylon on one scope and will not waste my time with it again. I lightly sanded it to prep it then put a few coats of flat earth on and let it dry for a week. The finish was not durable and chipped very easily.
I would either pay someone to do it right or at least spend the money on good supplies.

I guess the good thing about Krylon is that it is really easy to touch up.

How'd you paint it like that

It's hydrographics. Not paint.

Send it to a shop who does it :) pretty simple.

Or be brave an do it yourself and buy a kit. Quite easy in principle. But it's delicate an intricate work. Something I'm not good at lol.

It isn't cheap either just so you know. Good luck in whatever you choose.

I love the look of a used gun.. dont know why.. but i'll spray it up a couple of colours then once dry ill drag it across the driveway, some riverstones in the garden.. rub it with some plastic garden mesh, some windbreak, etc.. different textured materials.. comes out pretty nice usually..
