I have a cz 858 and have it tacticooled up with nea upper and lower foregrip and the fab defense pistol grip. i want to paint my tacticool parts to match the colour of the original cz paint. rather than paint the whole receiver and barrel as well... i would like to avoid that but i want a paint that is going to match colour and be durable. if i can't match the colour i would paint the whole thing i guess anyone ever done their own arma-coat or dura-coat paint jobs?
if you have could you give me a bit of a rundown on the process?

International (trucks) Grey Impliment Enamel is a match to VZ Grey paint.

I've been lucky and found it in rural Canadian Tires. It's about $15/can though.

To be completely honest, that is the last color that I would paint a CZ. There has to be something out there better than that greyish color.

i just want to avoid painting the whole thing if i had money to throw away i would get it arma-coated by murdoc. it's more the function im after than the look but the 3 tones of black definitely look strange. thanks for the tip on the international truck paint North Eastern Arms. is it going to be a good type of paint as far as durability... and on the plastic pistol grip?

I did a camo on my CZ and it turned out really nice...I'm very happy with it...Thing is I know I can always get the tactical stuff or the wood stuff out there if I want to change it.

im thinking i will do the foregrips and pistol grip in a different colour now maybe a dark green just trying to find a paint that can be used on metal and plastic. and will have durability i think if i wanted to paint the whole works i would give the break caliper paints a try they are heat resistant to 900 degrees far. and come in a few colours it is a high temp enamel. im hoping the auto body spray paints are durable enough for use on the grip.

yeah they are like a phosphate finish very flat black/dark grey. gritty kinda feel to it i would think its perfect for paint to adhere to. it looks kinda weird having this very flat finish mixed with the gloss finish of the cz paint and then the fab defense pistol grip in black 3 different tones and finishes. i was thing about colour today i pictured the foregrips and pistol grips painted the colour of ak wood furniture. or like a modern warfare 3 tiger stripe kinda look i will probably settle on something less flashy. cammo print the krylon stuff says it bonds well and there is another thread that emilio did a paint job with it. but it most likely not chemical or cleaner resistant? for that i looked at brake calliper paint heat resistant to 600 degrees farenheit and chemical resistant if it resists brake fluid it would probably handle gun cleaner. and there are a few colours most i would never use bright colours.... so i am looking at other krylon products they have high temp paints in other colours as well. enamels is the trick some have ceramic in them as well.. ahhh so many choices i will have to experiment
before i take the plunge

Thanks for the reply. I have a set coming from NEA and was wondering about the mix of colours too.
I will keep the stock pistol grip as it fits me very well.
I was going to paint it today, but better wait for all the parts to arrive and see what I have: CZ barrel, mags, etc., NEA handguards, stock adapter, scope mount, Tapsco stock and a Barska 3-9 cheap scope.

let me know how you like the cantilever scope mount i was considering going that route if i wanted to put a 3-9x40 on her. for now im happy with the red dot but it would be pretty sweet to have the option to do both.

Will do. I am really looking forward to getting all the parts!

Of all the options discussed in the stickies in this section, the cantilever mount looks to be the most elegant, least intrusive way of adding a scope. Also, it doesn't alter the gun in any permanent way.
