i suspect its indian army cadets in the state of punjab , im going according to what the instructors and cadets are wearing on theirs heads.

Pakistan is populated by muslims, not Seeks ;)

That's the Indian army.

Wonder if they are .303 or .308? I suspect .303 based on the 1940's era nosecaps.

Well, it looks to me like everyone has the butt of the rilfe on the ground, not on their shoulder.

Too far forward on stock too...

How can you tell?

the non-berets in the pic are only wore by sikh/punjabi , this is the state that is trying to separate from india.

also LE is manufactured at ishapore in western india.

It would be a shame if they seperated.
They have so much history together.
Some of it Bad - Some of it Good
Either way they have born the brunt of several crisis fighting for the same causes.

.....sure they are .303, why would they mess with something that works......and thay all have most likely had experiance with.

india was late in adopting the FN 1A , they also wanted to continue producing the LE but since FN uses 7.62mm nato, they decided they didnt want to carry two different types of ammo so it was easier to change the LE to 7.62mm. well, that was the plan anyway but i think in practice they still carried two different type of ammo.:D

"...to change the LE to 7.62mm..." The Indians made their 7.62 Enfields from scratch in the mid 60's. They're not just re-barreled. Not that it matters.
That kid is going to get hurt if he fires that rifle.

not re-barreled ... thats is true, better quality steel is needed to withstand the more powerful bullet.

Some came to Canada and were sold cheap (under $100) including a few unissued minty ones in the mix.
