PAL Application Section C question c)

I recently turned eighteen and I'm applying for my PAL/RPAL. I had gotten my minors license when I was 14, and when I was fifteen I was diagnosed with depression and admitted myself to the hospital, I was on SSRI's for some time. I've been well for 3 years now, no medication or mental illness. The question asks if any of these things have occurred in the last five years, obviously I must tick yes, my question.

How much will this affect my chances of having my firearms license approved? Should I give my GP as a reference? Anybody else had the same happen to them?

Getting a signed letter from your GP about the diagnosis/current condition and attaching it to your application probably wouldn't hurt.

Plenty of people who have to still take medication have PALs. It just might take longer and like sshiftyy said, a letter, to get it done.

it will drastically slow down the process you will probably be waiting up to if not more than 6 months

Get a letter from your GP explaining that you are not on meds nor depressed currently.

It should have little effect on the actual application, but not disclosing that information and them(RCMP/CFO) finding it will get you in some serious hot water.

Just be honest and everything will be alright.
