PAL/Hunting license

Can you get a PAL license only for target shooting or do you have to take the hunter safety course as well. I would eventually take the hunter safety course but not interested in hunting at this point in time. I would just like to be able to go to a range with my son to shoot targets.

Thanks for the reply. I will probably just do the PAL for now and then later on take the hunting course. I have alot of friends and neighbors that hunt so I am sure at some point I will want to hunt. I haven't hunted up to this point because it cuts into fishing time.
