Hi, I went to order a Sig 400fps pellet gun from Firearms outlet Canada and it says “ Please note: Valid PAL required for purchase of airguns“ I have already looked at this model at cabelas and it did not seem like I need to produce my pal to purchase it.
I just wanted to see if a law or rule had changed? I don’t usually keep up with airgun stuff.
Thanks
Chris

Cabelas requires PAL to buy primers and powder.
They actually make you fill out a sheet and sign.

Our government doesn’t require this.

I don’t shop at cabelas because of this.

It’s sub 495 , I know it’s not a big difference but u can’t get a 500 with no pal

Uh huh.. It's 500 FPS in the criminal code, not 495. Meaning velocities Under 500 FPS, do not need a license. Actually it must shoot over 500 FPS and 4.2 FPE in order to be classified as a firearm and need a license.

Cabela's does not require a PAL to buy Primers and Powder. Cabela's does require that you be over 18 years old, and that sheet is required by the Explosive regulations. However, you're given the pen, lord knows how many tonnes of powders and primers Justin Trudeau or Mike in Canmnore buy each year...
