Hello everyone

Going through the process of filling out my application and I have a question in regards to the fees.

I don't have a credit card personally, but my significant other has one. If she was to fill out the Fees section herself can her card be used to be billed,
or does this payment have to be from a card in my name? Or am I off to the bank for a certified cheque..?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Exploring the Application Information Sheet, nowhere can I find any mention that the credit card has to be in your name.
Provided the area in the payment section of the form is filled in with the name on the card and signed, I really don’t think it matters. Seeing the payment section requires the “cardholder’s signature” enforces my belief.
If you have concerns, get a Postal Money Order as it’s cheaper. $7.50 vs 10-15$ for a certified cheque. You’ll be going to the post office anyway. Send it registered mail, or ExpressPost, signature upon delivery.

+1. This is exactly what I did with my recent Restricted application (had NR PAL for almost 20 years). Fellow range member suggested that I both 1) send the whole thing in by overnight Fedex and 2) use a postal money order. Both will speed up the processing and even in the scheme of things (who knows, may take a year for them process this), a 7-10 days in total saved is still 7-10 days saved.
