I plan on challenging the PAL exam soon, I have studied the book and watched the videos that the CFSC have on their website. I am concerned though that I have not held a firearm in many years and do not want to fail the practical.
Are there any hints out there for further study materials, or anyone in the KW area who might be willing to help me learn the ropes as it were?
Additionally, I just looked at the PAL application sheet and see a few questions on there which may be problematic.
I have lost a job in the last 2 years, as the company went out of business. I have also been taking depression meds for a while, due to an issue with decreased Seratonin. I am not, nor have I ever been suicidal or voilent, but I am concerned that this may cause my application to be rejected summarily.
Can anyone out there tell me if they have had the same issue with regards to jobs and or meds, and how they handled these questions on the application. Is there any concern that the RCMP will contact your doctor to find out if you are on meds? Would you be upfront on your application in this regard, and hope to sort it out in the interview stage? Would you handle it differently?
Also, I let my FAC lapse years (decade or more) ago and do not have the actual hardcopy of it anymore, do I need to dig that up some how, and well, how would I do that? Would it be just easier to state that I never had a firearms license at all? Again, opinions as to how to answer this part of the application would be appreciated.
Any help in the above regards would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Sean
