Hey guys! Well, I'm new to all of this. I have a few questions:
Where can I apply for my PAL in BC?
Is there a test you have to write?
Can a person with a Minors license shoot a restricted handgun?
Help would be much appreciated.

1. You apply by mailing your completed application form with payment and proof of safety training to the RCMP office in New Brunswick.
2. Yes, you must complete the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (which has a written and practical component) to own firearms, and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course if you wish to own handguns and other restricted firearms.
3. Anyone can shoot a handgun under the supervision of a licensed owner. In order to own a handgun you must have a PAL with restricted endorsement. Minors cannot own or borrow restricted firearms such as handguns.

If you tell us what part of BC you live in, we could suggest CFSC course instructors in your area. When taking the course everything should be explained.

Cheers,
Sand

Well, it doesn't look like anybody wants to help you out, usually people are very friendly here on CGN.

Here are my suggestions:

1)Go to a local gun store, ask the people there, they should have contact information for CFSC course instructors. My tip to you my friend: ask who they suggest as being the most competent instructors. You'd be surprised to know some instructors are misinformed or state incorrect facts. :(

2)Call the CFC at 1-800-731-4000, navigate through the system to an advisory, and ask them for contact information of CFSC/CRFSC course instructors

3)Join the BC hunting forum ---> ht tp://www.huntingbc.ca/
The people there are far more local, and generally very helpful, especially if you intend to take up hunting someday!

I tried to find the manual online, but failed. PM me if you want me to send you a PDF for both non-R and R courses.

Cheers,
Sand
