Good job dubois, now you will learn the meaning of the word patience, while the CFC does whatever it is they do to create that magic card that lets you buy fun bang sticks.

Are you talking about the test that you wrote that was mailed to them by your examiner or the PAL/RPAL application form that you sent them(?)

I wrote my test 2 weeks ago and I haven't got the results. Is there a website where I can check it?

your examiner should have told you your marks for the practical and written right after they finished marking it.
As for the part online, ya it takes forever to show up, and then forever to change what it initially says too.

I am new to this site and I have a few general questions regarding the restricted firearms test I am taking this weekend.

I was told by my non-restricted firearms course teacher that taking the restricted course was un-necessary if I knew someone with handguns. I do know someone and tonight he put me through the various steps in handgun safety. I will not see this guy for a while and I have a few questions that I forgot to ask him.

1. What are the stipulations behind the transportation and usage of restricted firearms?

2. I'm still struggling with the difference b/w double and single action pistols, could someone briefly explain please?

Also I honestly plan to become a collector as I am into ww2 memorabilia and I want to buy WW era pistols. Can I say that I wish to become a collector rather than applying to a gun club? I don't really have a desire to be part of a gun club...Thanks again in advance.

Thanks in advance!

Krashed if you look in the legalese section I believe there's a sticky that has the restricted handbook available for downloading. You should read it cover to cover, and it will answer most of your questions.

The single/double action thing confuses a lot of peple, but it's actually very simple. All you have to remember is that the name is talking about what happens when you squeeze the trigger on a pistol.
On a single action: ONE thing will happen only. (the pistol will fire if it's already cocked, but if it isn't already cocked it won't fire).
On a double action: TWO things will occur when you squeeze the trigger. (the pistol will #### itself, AND the pistol will fire if a round is in the firing chamber)
If you live in Calgary I would be happy to show you in person, and you'll understand completely in less than 15 mins.
