I am wondering how much time it takes to get PAL these days, i sent in my application near the end of March and still as of today i.e. May 12 i get error message when i try to check application status online, i was told in the beginning of May that application status would show up near the end of the month...2 months just to see if they got application...that is ridiculous...anyone with any leads on the timing

from what i saw on a recent FB post, up to two years. hopefully someone else can come on and say it is quicker. my sister just sent her application in about the same time as you. may have to write your MP and complain. hopefully it's a conservative...
actually just re-read the post and it's not all bad, some people 3months, some 2years. maybe try and call in and see if they have a number attached to it yet. get that number and have your references call in with it. speeds things up.

Friend recently got theirs was 7.5 months from day received.
For the people saying up to two years, that does happen but is not the norm.
If a file gets flagged for further inspection that is what can take time, people with records, court orders etc.

I can second that.
I know my friend son’s minor PAL still hasn’t heard anything at all after his was mailed October 2021.
My daughter’s minor PAL was mailed in Jan 2022. Nothing at all so far.
It seems that minors are particularly slow. They kind of intentionally hold that
I mailed mine in and it was received Nov.1 2021.
CC was charged Dec. 1.
To this day status online states 'initial review has been completed......"
I phoned in a little over a month ago and they said it would be in my mailbox in a week or two...

I did my course in November '21. Took 3 months to receive my course paperwork back from FSESO. Put my application in to the RCMP mid-march. It's been 2 mos so far and they haven't charged my card yet.....still early in the 6 month timeframe I was told it would take.
I sent my application mid March. All I get on line is the error message. Phoned today. 13th. Lady who answered could give no information. Not in the system yet. She said they are backed up, to try calling again in about 6 weeks.also suggested watching credit card bill for charge.to see when it starts.
This kind of pathetic bureaucracy certainly doesn’t inspire confidence in the system. If they can’t even manage to look at an application two months after it was sent in.

I think we are in same boat...i sent in near end of March and still no info. Online it's pathetic...
Finally received my PAL/RPAL (End of July). Did the training course End of November so 8 months total for the complete process. My brother did his course at end of FEB and received his the day after mine, although he only registered for his PAL.
