PAL Wait Time

Mine was recieved March 20th calls on may 2 second, said they just needed to to speak to a refernce which i got mine to call in and got that completed, so im going to call monday again for a status update its been about 45days
 
I'm at 28 days since they received my application. Upgrading PAL to RPAL.
Not even on the website yet. :(

It only took a month to get my PAL...
 
I waited about 3 months gave them a call and they told me O its be sitting here in limbo and that I have been approved, after talking to them I had it in my hands in a week.

Good update for me.

On Friday I noticed that my application made it onto the website! Woo hoo!

I called them today at lunch, after working my way though the menu system my call was instantly answered.
Very nice and helpful lady told me that they are not QUITE ready to do an interview yet, but when they do they only need to call one of my references and I don't need to interview.
She told me that if one of my references have not been called by early next week I should call in again to get the reference number so I can have a reference call in.

Hopefully I'll have the RPAL soon, this money I set aside for my first pistol is burning a hole in my pocket.
 
My application has been approved. Just waiting for it to arrive.
March 25th: took course
May 12th: approved online... Waiting for the mail now before shopping spree.
 
here are my timelines.

March 8, 2014 - Non-Restricted Course passed
March 9, 2014 - Restricted Course passed
March 26, 2014 - Sent application Xpresspost
March 28, 2014 - Received in Miramichi (verified with signature)
April 2, 2014 - Received stamped CFSC and CRFSC from CFO
April 26, 2014 - Credit card charged
April 27, 2014 - Shows up as in the "processing" stage online
April 28, 2014 - Faxed CFSC and CRFSC
April 29, 2014 - Shows up as in the "in progress" stage online
April 29, 2014 - One reference called in for interview
May 10, 2014 - Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued.
 
Had my reference call in an hour ago, and its approved! :D

My timelines - Upgrading PAL to RPAL.

9 Arpil '14 - Application received and signed for
23 April '14 - Called in to ask why it was not on website yet - Told they have a 5 week backlog.
9 May '14 - Application showed up online - CC Charged.
12 May '14 - Called in to ask if i can do interview - Told that they are not quite ready and they they ONLY need to interview 1 reference. If reference not called this week, have them call in.
16 May '14 - Had reference call in at ~1300
16 May '14 - ~1430 Licence approved and issued!

37 days total, only 7 days from initial processing to approval.

Woo hoo!!!

Good luck to everyone else waiting, be a little proactive and you can get it faster ;)
 
My timeline follows yours almost exactly, im still waiting on the cfo to approve. Does anyone know of how to contact the CFO in Saskatchewan? that would be very helpful
 
My PAL/RPAL took almost 7 months ! only because I got one of my references phone numbers wrong ( like a complete dummy ). they had to send my application back to me and have me correct the phone number instead of just letting them change it over the phone! put me right back at the bottom of the waiting list.
 
My application was recieved Apr11th, 5 weeks and change to cash my cheque last week.
Called today around 45 day mark because I couldn't create a Gckey.
Was very polite and was informed I had already been processed and approved, they are scanning my picture
for id today and will be in the mail shortly.....soon to be a major dent in my bank account!
Im in BC so I assume this wait time to be normal
 
march 14th application received and got my brand new r-pal card in the mail today! so about 2 and a half months or 73 days.
did not call once since i hate to talk to people on the phone
 
I found it odd, that I have to wait for the test results (4-6 weks), the instructor had to mail my test to the CFO (Ontario) so they can mail it to me, then I get to fill out the paperwork for the RCMP and mail it to them to upgrade to the R. When I did the PAL in the 90's we left with a copy of our results and mailed it once. So my test results will be mailed three times. Seems like a huge waste of time and money.

still have to jump through the ATT hoops and do an ATT course............. also will apparently need to beg people i dont know to allow me to use their NR's at the range prior to being allowed to use my own.

I'm figuring my BB course will be in 2018....................
 
Mine finally showed up online after 22 days from being received going to call tomorrow and see if my references can call in hopefully it goes smoothly...have read too many horror stories of it taking 5 6 7 months
 
Seems like 28 days is the standard for the application to show up online, as stated on the site. 28 days for me is this Friday. *fingers crossed*
