PAL Wait Time

Anyone having success getting through to the chief fire arms officer. A detective called me because of an address discrepancy as we were moving house at the time. My wife answered and took her number but she won’t answer.
I called the general line the lady updated it but told me call through to extension 7503 (cfo) to check if they needed anything else as far as documentation, been calling that line for days with no success.

Application received: 09 March
Cc charged: 16 Aug
Current status: Initial processing complete now in progress

So, to be clear on your experience, if I had a minor speeding ticket 2 years ago this would effect my application time? Sheesh.

I wouldn’t say red flag but for me it went to metro, I had an charge for no cat in the exhaust I forgot to take care of, other than a few parking tickets and that was all. Anyway it didn’t take too long, but when I called to inquire about status, they told me metro had it and were waiting on them.

So it looks like they might have about 3 month backlog. I'm curious to see what my processing time will be as I'm an immigrant. I don't even have a single parking ticket in Canada or anywhere else, but it would probably take some extra time if they check with my previous countries of residence. I'm sure they have my history on file as I've had to declare all that in my various previous federal applications.

Application received at Miramichi May 14th
Credit card charged Mid Sep
License issued today Oct 3rd
Waiting on receiving it in mail

Hello everyone. When you say 'application received on.....', is that the date that Canada Post tracking says that it was delivered, or does it actually show up on the RCMP website as received? I mailed my RPAL upgrade in on July 8th and the tracking says that it was delivered on July 13th. Nothing on the RCMP website yet about it being received. I have been assuming that I won't see anything on the RCMP website until my cc is charged. Is that correct? I am in Alberta.
Thanks in advance!

the RCMP website will tell you when your application was received by them, usually the date should match with the one on canada post's tracking website
just wait til your cc is charged, by the current time line yours will probably be charged this or next week

You are correct, the 'received on' date won't show up on the RCMP website until they begin processing your application, which is usually the same day they charge your CC. At that point the 'received on' date should match the date that Canada Post tracking gave, July 13th.
