PAL Wait Time

Yeah, I can only imagine the agony of wait. At least you got it though lol. What I've found out during this process is that the approval timelines radically varies from person to person. I've found people who've gotten approved on the 28th day, while others get there's in a year. The waiting is killing me nevertheless lol

This will be my last update to my timeline!

June 8th,2018 Application received in NB.
Nov 7th, 2018 PAL/RPAL approved.
Nov 22, 2018 Received my card!

167 days in total.

So my application showed online today, received october 25th so a bit less than a month to show up.

That's great to here, at least you are now over the 28 day waiting period. Now as long as they have all your information they can begin the process of giving you your license. Who knows, you may get approved before the black Friday sale finsh lol

Sent in all documents by registered mail. Arrived on Oct 29. Just had my credit card charged today so hopefully will show online shortly. I had something in my calendar to call the RCMP today too so I got lucky! Took 25 days from receiving the application to charging my card.

Oct 29: Application received
Nov 23: Credit card charged
TBD: everything else

Here is my situation for PAL/RPAL application process (British Columbia):
I don't have a criminal record.

2018-09-28 - Application is mailed at the post office.

Tracking number: ***************

2018-10-03 - Application received by RCMP in NB. day 0
2018-10-31 - Application shows up online. day 28
- Credit Card charged
- Application #: ***************

2018-11-15 Day 43
- Called to check status and ask about references and missing info
- Updated the mailing address
- Told that application was with the BC CFO
- Told that references didn't need to be contacted
- Man on the other end was very polite and very helpful

2018-11-23 Day 51
- Called to check status again
- Very helpful woman picked up the phone
- told them I needed it for biathlon and target shooting
- Put me on hold after saying that she would go ask about the status of my application

- Got transfered to somebody (Not the CFO) put on hold again
- Told that due to high volume and more extensive background checks to wait up to 90 days from today
to call again.

My application finally came online. I then quickly Talked to the RCMP today. I asked if there's anything missing and they told me my credit card number and the stamped course report, he even brought up the fact that I wrote a note saying that it was coming very soon. The officer gave me the fax number to send the coruse report and then said to me that my application will be finalized as soon as they get it! I'm so relieved that everything worked out, it just goes to show that being proactive and polite still opens doors for you

Nice! Hope mine get finalized soon too then. As our application seems to be processed in the same batch, if you can keep me updated and I'll keep you updated too! Good luck!

Once you application show up as "Your application has completed initial processing" do you still need to call in to ask if they miss some informations? Because on my dads one it says "we need more informations" so am I safe?

You should be fine, I'd say call once more to make sure that nothing's missing because you never know. Also, being proactive helps your application along as opposed to waiting for the RCMP to tell you what they need from you.

Just got my paperwork for the CRFSC and I'll be sending off my application in a couple hours. Will edit this post when I have a better timeline.

Tues November 27, 2018- Application sent out through registered mail.

Monday December 3, 2018- Application arrives at Miramichi and is at the RCMP building.

Friday January 4, 2018- Credit card charged and my application has been officially opened. The processing has started.

9 weeks, yikes. Is that 9 wks from Nov 26?
I'm in Berta and mine was received around the 2nd October also.
:bangHead:

Yes, 9 weeks from Nov 26 lol I I read a previous post from another Albertan whose was received the same day and his license was issued last Wednesday so there's really no rhyme or reason to it at all. Very frustrating!

Hey, does anyone know how long it takes the RCMP to get faxed information as well as apply the information to their system? I just faxed my course report yesterday and I was told it would take 2 week for them to get the info.

The entire process is painfully slow. If you read through all the pages in this thread, the one constant is 28 days typically from when they receive your application for it to appear online. From then on it's a guessing game. The average is 45 to 60 days from receiving it to issuing it. Any missing info will cause more delay. Your report will be in the system well before it gets sent to your cfo so I don't see that causing any added delay. I originally thought the most painful part was waiting for it to show up on line but it's not. Your status sitting at "completed initial processing and in progress, check back at a later date" is the worst!

Yeah, that really must suck. I'm just worried about waiting more than i have to due to a faxing info. I mean, for a fax to take two weeks to get sounds ridiculous.
