PAL Wait Time

Friday January 18, 2019- Phoned in to speak with RCMP CFP, reached a man named Thomas on the other end. He was very pleasant and after a small hold, informed me that he tweaked some things on the other end. My license was issued during the call.
2-3 weeks from now I should have it in my hands.

Phoned the 15th Jan was told i was waiting on photo scanning and call back in 3 weeks. Hoping for anyday now. No notes on file. Lady on the phone was very helpful however.
Apparently my writing wasnt the greatest on the forms so word of advice from this experience have someone with nice writing do the forms lol might make things a bit quicker.

I emailed them. They got back to me a day later basically saying they can't give out private info over email. During the call they confirm your identity through many questions and email wise it doesn't happen. Anything related to your application should be called in instead.
Freakin Quebec CFO... since they handed to work over to civilians, it takes 4 weeks for a transfer and they are behind MORE THAN 4 MONTHS for permit renewals . My permit expires Feb 21 and I sent the renewal in Oct 8/18.... I called recently and they told me they're 4 months behind!!! I was also told I have a grace period of 6 months BUT I can't take them out of the house so no club for me. That being said, I'm going to call and ask for it in writing that I have a 6 month grace period. Unbelievable !!

RCMP took from December 3rd to January 4th to get mine online. Jan 18 she was issued.

Here is another data point for you... Mine was received at Miramichi on Dec 7. My credit card was charged on January 11 and application shows up online that day. Still waiting though...
Nope. I’m checking every hour though, lol

Finally there! Just waiting for card in hand now. Timeline as follows:
Oct 29 2018: application received by RCMP (day 0)
Nov 23 2018: credit card charged (day 25)
Nov 24 2018: application shows up online (day 26)
Dec 10 2018: status online indicates possible issue (“you have been, or will be contacted...”). Call RCMP to ask about status: turns out all is good, error on their end, still being processed. (~Day 42)
Jan 8 2019: check online, still being processed. Call RCMP, told still not with Ontario CFO, call back in 3 weeks if no update (day 71)
Jan 21 2019: check online, still being processed (day 84)
Jan 22 2019: check online; license issued! (day 85)
I guess not too bad given some stories I’ve heard. However, a friend who applied a month after me got his license a month ago, and another friend applied before me and he is still waiting. Luck of the draw it seems.
