PAL Wait Time

Jan 30, BC, no checkboxes.
She’s been issued! 43 calendar days including Christmas and all.
I literally called them 8 hours ago and they said it wasn’t even at the BC CFO yet.

Awesome, I have the exact same timeline but mines going to the Ontario CFO, probably a lot slower than BC

Edit :Timeline

Revived on Jan 3rd
Now Jan 30th payment took from my card and now can see it online! Finally!
Called today (feb6)to see if everything was okay (info wise) been sent off to the cfo in sask

finally got approved today!!! Called Alberta CFO office 3 weeks ago, got told its being processed and call back closer to the end of January. Called yesterday and same old still being processed could be another month blah blah. Checked around 4pm today and it says license issued! Don't know if calling yesterday helped speed things up but honestly im assuming so. Application received nov 8 so just under 3 months for non restricted PAL. Still pretty ridiculous if you ask me but oh well. No references called or even a phone interview with me. Keep your patience everyone!

Been waiting since July of 2018 for mine, it's currently just stuck in "Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date." Checked one box to "have the police been called to your residence" or something like that because i got into a verbal altercation with a family member (no violence or handcuffs for anybody). Pretty ridiculous seeing people on here getting theirs processed in 45 days when it's been over 7 months and i still haven't gotten mine. Called numerous times and have just been told to wait and wait. What is up with that?

Finally issued and in the mail!

Timeline Ontario:

-Canada post shows registered mail gets to RCMP December 16th
-January 23rd cc charged and application online (RCMP reports mail got there in the 19th of December)
-Called on the 29th to see if there was any missing info, informed picture was being scanned and then sent to CFO. Told to wait another 30 days
-Issued today!

Congratulation! Even shorter than my timeline for a fellow Ontarian

Congrats! We are practically on the same timeline
I asked how often they’re printed and the kind lady told me every single day. How do you know it’s in the mail? I forgot to ask them how often they mail it.

We just assumed it was mailed judging by the 2 week wait the message was saying. Did they give your PAL out over the phone?

The physical cards are mailed every Friday from Miramichi.

Anybody have any advice on what i should do regarding my RPAL application that has been "in processing" for 8 months now? This is actually ridiculous and theres absolutely no reason it should take this long seeing as how theres people on here that have received theirs in less than 50 days. I checked "Yes" to one box about if there has been any conflict at my residence or something like that because there was a verbal altercation with a family member, nobody was hurt nobody left in handcuffs just needed the situation deescalated. Calling in is a joke, get the same response every time wait another month bla bla bla. Should i lawyer up and pursue them? What do i even do, feels like ill never get my license.

that's a tough call. Some other people on this forum suggested talking to your MP. Lawyering up is going to cost you $$.

I wouldn't have reported a simple argument in my house to the RCMP when submitting my gun license application that's for sure. You're just giving them an excuse to deny you and holding up the process over nothing.

You need to talk to the provincial CFO officer assigned to your file, the people at Miramichi cannot help you at this point. Once you speak with the officer, the decision can be made same day.....

You're probably right but i didnt think it would be a good idea to lie, which could possibly be an instant deny if found out.

How would i get on the phone with the specific officer assigned to my file? I've been transferred to the CFO after calling the main Miramichi line and basically get told the same thing everytime.
