Feb 12, Test Results received from FSESO, Application mailed to RCMP
Feb 19 - RCMP Receives application
March 15 - Application appears online, Credit Card Charged
March 19 - License Issued.

No references called, no boxes checked.

They processed mine right at the 28 days, but I just got a letter saying I forgot to write my name on the back of my picture, so I had to resend. We'll see where it goes from there. They already debited my cc though, which I thought they wouldn't do until they issued the actual license, so I thought that was weird.

I've heard 3 different timelines from CFP.

1. 45 days total (including 28 day waiting period) on their website
2. 45 days after 28 day waiting period from a person on the phone
3. 45 BUSINESS DAYS after 28 day waiting period, from another person on the phone

They are taking their sweet time with mine as well.

Maybe it goes into a different, slower pile if they see AB in the province box. :p

I was told 90 days from when the CFO receives it for final approval

How long does it take for something to show up on the Status check website?

Set up a GCKey yesterday & after answering a bunch of questions, it said nothing was in the system.

Today I signed in to check & the site seems wonky. Keeps going in circles.

They can start processing in the 28 day period. They just can’t issue until the period is up. Mine wa issued back in September after 36 days.

You somehow passed me... I called them today to see what's up cause 2 of you seem to have passed me. Lady told me my application was with the CFO in Ontario and waiting their approval. Hopefully soon. Here is my updated timeline:

Nov 2, 2018 Signed up for CFSC
Jan 5-6, 2019 CFSC taken
Feb 1, 2019 Stamped test results received from province
Feb 2, 2019 PAL application mailed out snail mail
Feb 8, 2019 R.C.M.P. claimed to have received my application on this date.
March 11, 2019 Credit Card charged $60, Application listed "in progress" on website.
March 19, 2019 Phoned in and was told application is with CFO

Okay, we have some action today. Below is revised timeline

March 21, 2019 Online status now reads "Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number."

Guess I'll have to start checking my mailbox now... Haven't been since Feb 1st.

Saskatchewan PAL applicant here.

Application received in Miramichi Jan 18, been in progress since Feb 8. Day 63 now. No boxes checked. Anyone in Sask having any luck?

Someone I know got their RPAL 45 days from being received to being in hand at the end of Jan. I sent my PAL in end of Feb so I'm hoping for his luck. Also in Sask.

Quebec PAL Application

1) Received by RCMP Miramichi 2019-01-14
2) Called in to check status 2019-02-07
- there was an issue with application/payment. Got it sorted on the phone. Application forwarded to Provincial counterpart
3) PAL Issued 2019-03-14
4) PAL Received 2019-03-20

Final Manitoba timeline:

October 27th - PAL Course/Test

October 30th - Sent course results and picture in

November 8th - Received by Miramichi

December 3rd - Credit Card Charged, I began logging in to check my PAL application status, displayed "Competed Initial Processing"

January 7th - Application status still showing "Competed Initial Processing" so I called in. Was told everything looked good and it was just going to take time for them to work through everything. They said to call back if there was no change in status by the end of January.

February 3rd - Called in again. They said all that was left was to do a background check and send it off to the MB CFO.

March 1st - Called in again and took the advice of others on this thread and called Manitoba CFO, asked if they could do a background check on the phone, they said they couldn't but just wait patiently.

March 15th - Logged into the portal for the first time in 2 weeks and see it was approved! Came home from work and my PAL was in my mailbox! Letter said it was approved on March 11th.

Overall, from the time the letter was received in Miramichi to the time I was approved it was 123 days, 127 until it was in my hands. Just a bit longer than the 45 they claim haha.

Took longer than I was hoping but I'm thrilled I now have my PAL. Celebrated by buying my first shotgun to use for hunting this fall and a few boxes of shells!

I completed the PAL and RPAL firearms course and sent the application off. Received their end 27 Feb. Will update more when i get updated. Still within the 28 wait time.

Update for my RPAL from Alberta. As above quote received by RCMP on 27 FEB 19 and showed up online 23rd March. Mine Sent with a international police check as well. Ill update when its completed processing.

Just did my non restricted January 15, 2019. I did it in Manitoba and sent my paperwork in 3 days later. Total time was 6 weeks until I received my PAL in the mail.

Ontario:

Now, just waiting for the Canada Post delivery of the plastic. :)
