PAL Wait Time

just dropped the paperwork for my Rpal upgrade in the mail
will update when I have a card in hand, have heard guys getting a card back in little as 5-6 weeks when just upgrading,

So, they recieved my application on the 15th and my rpal was issued yesterday, should have it by friday.
I also have had a non restricted for almost 10 years, not sure how much difference that makes.

Man, this thread is making me sad :(
Ontario timeline:

One stop CFSC/OHEP completed Dec 22/23

Recieved stamped course reports mid Jan (15th I think)

Mailed out Jan 29

Recieved Jan 31

Appeared online as "inital processing completed, in progress" and cc charged Mar 1

I've called about three times since, just keep getting told to wait longer. Really hoping I get it in time for turkey season :)

Edit: I didn't tick any boxes, no record of any kind, and they confirmed when I called that there was no info missing.

Today marks 100 days for me. Still displays as "Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date."

Don’t get your hopes up. I am in Ontario mine has been “in progress” since Feb 8th. No boxes checked etc... Looks like I will be chasing turkeys with the bow this year.

It's been since October that my application for my PAL/RPAL was received. Everything in order, no boxes checked. I called the CFO for my province 2 weeks ago and they said they need to call my references. What is going on? I feel like they are being unreasonable.

I talked to my liberal (and very anti-firearm) MP today and had a surprisingly pleasant chat. He said he'll look into it for me but he's never dealt with anything similar before so it might take a bit of time.

No boxes checked but my application was flagged because of a brief mental health interaction with police 2 years ago caused by a few misunderstandings.

Fingers crossed that I won't have to wait much longer.

Sask here: Feb 25th: Wife application sent out
March 1st: Wife application is recieved
March 25th: Wife CC is charged.

My wife and I also sent in our applications together. They showed up online within a few days of each other and both licenses were issued with in a couple days. I could be wrong but I think in a husband and wife scenario there is some incentive to issue both close together as once one is issued both parties would have access to firearms anyway.

Update: Mine went through this morning. It says it arrived the 7th of March a full 6 days after my wifes did. Now we play the 2nd waiting game and hope the Sask CFO is kind to us!

Let us know if you see any progress. I'm also in Sask. I'm at day 70 since they received it and Sask seems to be quite a lot slower than other provinces sadly.

Someone I know at the local gun range here got their RPAL in about 45 days. They sent it in start of Jan so hopefully we can get around that time too.

My RPAL renewal is going on 8 months!
Application Received on: 2018-07-04
They requested additional information in September on my common-law relationship that ended a year earlier. I replied to that in November as I was working away from home so didn't get the request mail until late October.
They processed my credit card payment on March 8
today it still says
Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

Waiting since June 2018
flagged since September 2018
No activity since ... told to call back in 3 months

Bc

Not sure if its the same in BC but in Ontario, a local area firearms officer will be assigned to investigate your application if it's been flagged. If you haven't already, call the CFO's office and ask to speak to person in charge of your file.
