PAL Wait Time

I work in a call center myself for a telecom company and when there a big outage of service people call in and I repeat myself 100 times per day... me too sometime in my voice you will feel that I hate my job...

Be friendly please with the CFP!

I am stuck on the same message. Package received by CFP March 21. Package opened and CC charged April 11. I called April 15 to confirm all is well. Was told nothing missing all good.
Waiting for picture to be scanned. And that is where i sit now. Day 84 and counting.

Tried calling June 11 first thing. They wont even answer the phone. Once i went thru the menu to be put in queue i get message saying they are extremely busy. Wont put me in line to talk to a rep and
to call back later.

Ya i kept getting same message after going through the menu (1 for English 5 for application stat and 2 to talk to call center) i found if u push 1 for making a payment on app u will be placed in que instead of being hung up on and and they dont mind

My Timeline (Quebec) PAL/RPAL
Application Received on: 2019-04-12
CC Charged: 2019-05-07
Status Issued: 2019-06-11 "Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)"
Received Physical Card (RPAL): "to be determined"
===============================
I called the CFP this morning to :
1- Ask for my RPAL License Number and Expiration Date -> She gived to me!
2- Ask to be prioritized for the printing process -> Told me it should be printed within 10 Business days
3- If its legal to purchase a Restricted Firearm ONLINE without the physical card in hands -> No problem, if I stay at home to receive the package and store it securely at home. But would need the card to obviously go to the range... or get my package at the Post Office.
=------------=
In those unsure days with everyone buying AR-15. It was a pain in the *** to find my dream AR I wanted for the past few months... All websites are OUT OF STOCK... But after a few hours of online search finally find it ! It was the last one in stock!
I got myself a Colt Canada SA15.7 + Holographic EOTech 512 Sight
=------------=
For everyone still waiting out there... Good Luck!
It sure did help my process to call the CFP AND* CFO
Be friendly and say: "Sorry to bother you", "Have a great week !"

It's sad to say that but... You need to fight to get what you want... Maybe one day it will change!

Log on to the RCMP site with your RPAL number and not your application number (the left side) . If it works then your unprinted card is in the system as a valid card. You will be in possession of a restricted firearm without a card so it's at your own risk even if it's only kept at the address registered with the CFO.

BC, here. Sent in my rpal application in August last year, still have heard nothing. I've phoned the BC CFO a few times now, they tell me that it is "being worked on by another officer in the office, and there is no ETA at this time."

You don't have to answer me for this one but : Did you checked any box? Because your file seems to have been flagged with something because its WAYYYYY to long what a Nightmare application.

At this point, your best bet is to send an email to your PM of your region to get things moving or at least have more detail of why it's taking that long... Some people in this forum have done it and got great result!

Best of luck!

Yes, I did check a box. A few years back, I worked construction and was laid off during the winter. Long story short, I took a much lower paying job and had to declare bankruptcy. I attached a letter to my application explaining in more detail the reasons for the bankruptcy. I also wrote that the decision to go through with it was a very good decision on my part, as I am now debt free, and had been for quite some time before I mailed my application. I also noted that the lack of debt allowed me to return to school, and find a career that I am very happy with.

Beyond that, no other issues.

Finally received my R/Pal license!

CFSC & CRFSC courses: Feb. 16 & 17, 2019
Application mailed: Mar 19, 2019
Application received: Mar 25, 2019
Credit card charged: Apr. 17, 2019
Saw my license application approved and license issued on-line : May 9, 2019
Licence arrived in mail: Jun. 13, 2019

I actually called in twice hoping to be prioritized in the printing process but was told my case was already in the final stage so no way to speed it up. Called again Jun. 11 when I was told my card was printed and mail Jun. 7.

I am in Ontario. I am more than happy this painstaking waiting time is finally over.

Great luck EVERYONE!
