My son and I had both mailed our applications on the same day. His card showed up 3 weeks ago and no change on the staus of my application. Checked on the 14th and it said it was being processed. Checked 24th and it has been issued. Now we wait for Canada Post to do their thing and then wait for Ontario CFO to process the transfer.......

RPAL was in the mail last night. 174 days
 
Sent application somewhere around the 2nd half of Jan (Ontario)

Application received 27Jan2020

Initial processing. Now in progress.

Been able to login since Feb but no update at all. Have called 5 times and they say its in processing and now with Covid they don't have a date.
 
Got my card in the mail today.

Arrived in miramichi march 26th

Cc charged July 17th

In progress on RCMP website aug 24th

Application approved license issued aug 26th

License arrived in mail (B.C.) Sept 3rd

Average wait time since the beginning of covid is 6 months currently from when it was received. Your application is going through the motions right now. Sit tight and cross your fingers.
 
I think i am going to set the worlds record for the longest wait

PAL course - March 09 2019
RPAL course - March 21 2019
Paper work arrives in Miramichi March 21 2019
Appears online and CC charged April 11 2019 - called them. everything in order. nothing missing. waiting for picture to be scanned

Now 18 months later. Still showing "in progress"

No giant red flags as far as i can see. Told them about some anxiety i had in 2007 after my mother died suddenly.
Theft charge on record that is almost 40 years ago
Clean record since then. Stable job/ Stable address/ non drinker/non smoker/ no drugs. Not even a parking ticket since then

I have read of people coming off a 10 year prohibition getting PAL faster than me.
Early Aug 2020 i applied for a freedom of info to see what the CFO has and maybe find out what the hold up is

So far i have called them in April 2019. July 2019. Sept 2019. Dec 2019. April 2020.
I am now going to call them every month

I would keep calling, and try to talk to a CFO if you can, Bill C-71 took out the 5 year limitation on charges and health history they can look into. I read one guy was waiting for like 2.5 years.

Initial processing. Now in progress.

Finally able to login this week after checking so many times (14AUG20)

Card has been issued 18SEP20!!!

Cc just showing as charged (Sept 18).

It also shows now as being online and having passed Initial Processing.

welcome to the club. I'm just wondering what comes next after this. If interview or what the next status update is. I called the rcmp and they told me to be patient as things are slow but should hear something in the next few weeks. I call them once a week politely and thank them for their assistance. Just kind of secretly hoping they throw me a bone and tell me where things are at or if I need an interview they just do it right there on the phone.

That said, can anyone chime in that has good recollection of the process. After your cc is charged and initial processing complete, what is the next step in the process and assuming no issues, how long before it says Application approved? Ie the soonest you can get your pal number?
