PAL Wait Time

Hey all, so just learned from my Stepdad that his application was received faster (Received August 18th, CC charged November 27th) because he had his original License from almost 20 years ago (named something else back then) but, that fast tracked his application. He also called in over a month ago to tell them he received a hunting tag for small moose. Apparently, they do fast track those applications to coincide with hunting season.

So this is the reason his was accepted so fast. Sorry to give any false hope :(

more questions, does date received on the cfp website matches the one that canada post told you it was delivered?
is the name and city of birth case sensitive?
Don't know about the date received as I sent just regular mail. I always write my name with correct caps, but the city of birth is not case sensitive.

Good luck to you all. It was about 4 months for me and I don't think there were any delays affecting my application.

it lined up for me. Sent March 18 2019. Canada Post tracking showed it arrived on March 21 2019.
On April 11 2019 my CC was charged and it appeared online as "in progress" Date received showed as March 21.

19+ months later, October 29 2020 showed as "license issued" and on November 06 2020 arrived in mail.

not sure about case sensitive but has to match what you wrote on your application.

Any September applicant got their CC charged this week?
Also to check the status online, they ask to put "city where you are born / online service NIP " do I have to put both of them or either one is fine?

Im from mid sept, nothing yet, and i believe just the city, you can try all the different combinations, someone said he/she tried both just the city and with the province and it worked anyway

South Africa - "They pacified the population by saying that it is still theoretically possible to own a firearm legally. All they did was to just stop handing out licenses, citing a bureaucratic backlog as the reason." Sounds familiar

i dont believe we are that corrupted yet, but who knows 5 years later when i renew my license

do you guys know bout the "Q"? I believe we are going to have a war against the devil of the world, who is trying to take guns away from us to make sure they will have the power forever. This is not about a kind of politicians or parties or some countries. This is about the real devil in this world. We need to prepare for it.
The English version of the documentary about Q has been deleted by youtube. I can only found a version with mandrin subtitle but still in English voice.

My online status has changed only after one day! Now it says my licence has been approved and issued, which should be in mailbox in two weeks. Sounds like I can still catch the boxing day sell. My application was received Aug 17

ive heard stories of online status only show up when they are finalizing your approval, could this be the case for recent/mid aug applicants?
i dont even know if they have picked up their speed already or not, the way cfp process apps is mysterious as hell
anyways, congrats
also, a quick search about "Q" results nothing, since its just a letter, if you can link that would be great, thnks
also forgot to ask, which province? both rpal and pal? no ref called?

yup there is no reason that it is still taking 4 months, they should've caught up by September, and if not the wait should be less and less every month as they get through the backlog. Besides a large part of the backlog was printers being down, that should only delay receiving your card not your approval.
