PAL Wait Time

UPDATE:

Upgrading from PAL to RPAL.

CC charged today $41.70, so they figured the upgrade price out all on their own even without a box for us to check off!

It took exactly 4 weeks from the date of receipt to charge me.

And now the wait for my course results so I can fax them in....

New PAL

Sep 12th Passed CFSC/CRFSC
Oct 4th Mailed in (Took a long time to get signatures lol)

As of Oct 20th can't yet see my status online, I do not know when they've received it (if at all, though I sent with Canada Post so I'm sure it got there eventually), and not yet seen a charge on the credit card.

Soon. "Patience is a Virtue" my mother would day

Update:

Sep 12th Passed CFSC/CRFSC
Oct 4th Mailed in
Nov 4th: Credit card charged, and I can see my application status online now

Here's an update to my PAL/RPAL application.

The website now states that my application has been processed and the license issued and to call back in two weeks if it does not arrive.

That means that after the 28 day holding period, it took exactly 45 days to approve the license. Just like they claim the average time is.

Waiting sure is tough...

For my renewal recently in ON, it took the stated 45 days pretty much spot on. After showing the 'Received' date, & the Processing message, I was checking once a week, online only. It was Updated online, {46 days later} as 'ISSUED'.

Does anyone know the approval speed of NS CFO?

The lady from CFP said that my application has reached the final stage of review, and I am waiting for the final judgment from CFO. When I called CFO last month, she said that they were processing the application from July to August, and the lady from CFO did not say how long it would be finished (PS her attitude was harsh). Should I continue to call next month? :p

By the way, my application was received on September 29th

Those of you doing your PAL/RPAL in Ontario, did you have to mail in your application and test results in to Miramichi, or was it somewhere in Ontario?

Also, has anybody sent their application before receiving test results for a faster application?

Miramichi.

Yes, both PAL and RPAL (I took the courses about a year apart). Mailed in the forms and put a note saying I would fax the results when received.
Check your credit card statement and when you see the RCMP charge on it a day or so later it will appear on their website. Grab the reference number and make sure you put that number on it so when they get the fax they will know where to match it up with.

A note about faxing: I tried numerous times with a paid and various free versions and they didn't work. I had to get a friend who had an actual fax machine to send it in to actually get a confirmation that it worked. Your mileage may vary but that was the case for me.

I received my RPAL results on Friday Nov 19, I took the course Sunday Oct 3rd just to give you a timeline on when you should get your back.

Update:

I got my application sent back to me because I apparently missed putting my own signature on the photo I provided, though my guarantors signature was provided :/

Sent it back with a tracker, was supposed to arrive back on the 19th but just got accepted this morning.

Now I play the waiting game, part 2.

Completed PAL/RPAL April 23/2016 (never actually applied for the license, just sat on it like a dolt for 5 years)
mailed registered / received by RCMP Oct 14/21
Approved status online: Nov. 18/21

Lightning fast compared to what others have experienced. Anxiously checking mailbox daily now.
