PAL Wait Time

It might be interesting to identify that the officer did note that she also has family who has issues with alcohol and addictions. Potentially that leaves her in a position to have a more perspective view of what all is involved in that world.

Anyways, should finally see my card next week. Yay!

I've been checking every Thursday and finally got the good news!

Checking every Thursday…you have great restraint. I had been checking multiple times a day for months! lol Congrats btw!

Is anyone else getting the following when trying to access their application?

Application Error
An application error has occurred. The application’s administrators have been notified. Please log back in and try your operation again. If this error persists, please contact the policy centre at 1-800-731-4000.

It has been showing this for a few days, I thought it may have been cause of the long weekend but seems like it is still down (also not sure why a website would take a weekend off lol).

Yep, am getting it too. Am calling the CFP right now to check my application status.

If the system doesn’t show your application you won’t get anything from a live person either.
I have been doing that for the last month and was always told to wait for another 2 weeks before calling back

Yup. That's all I can see when I try to sign in.

Did you get a credit card charge?
They told me only when a cc charge happens should I see the status online.
I have an application with timeline similar to yours but I haven’t seen anything so far.

I just checked again, it's still showing the error message.

Just keeping everyone up on times... I am an Alberta resident and submitted for an RPAL back in early January. This was not a renewal technically but a new issue. I previously held an FAC back in the 90's/early 2000's that expired in 2001 but never ever held a PAL.

I never had to redo the courses as back when I did mine in 95/96 time frame the one course covered you for both non-restricted and restricted, and after a call to the RCMP to confirm, they did agree my original course was still valid to submit for an RPAL as is so I went ahead and did that.

Logging in online it showed them receiving my application on Jan 14/2022. On March 10 it showed that the initial review had begun and I would only be contacted if there were any issues with my application. Today, April 25 I logged in and it now says my license has been processed and issued and I should see it within two weeks, so basically just under 3.5 months from start to finish.

For those of you that finally got a PAL, how long after your references were called did you get approved? And were you contacted?

I have a friend who's wife and one reference were called over 3 weeks ago and he's still not approved when he checks the website.

Do they call the references if there are no issues? I was a reference for somebody years ago and nobody ever called me.

I mailed my application from Alberta three weeks ago and the RCMP website still indicates they have not received it. Should I be worried?
