PAL Wait Time

Peace bonds but withdrawn, with written revocable consent. from the victim of the assault.
I'm also well aware of bill c-21. BUT if you read the bill line by line you will see that it will not automatically revoke firearms licenses for people who have, or have had them. It will however make it much harder to acquire licensing. while also putting in place the yellow and red flag policies. It will also make anyone who has a valid license but gets slapped with a peace bond vulnerable to losing that license because of the peacebond. I see alot of people freaking out thinking they will all lose their license with prior peacebonds. That is not the case.

Peace bond from the past will infact trigger automatic revocation unfortunately, that is confirmed by the lawyer Ian Runkle.

But honestly who really knows?

I am also in the same boat, got a peace bond 5 years ago for an incident 7 years ago.

I've stressed about it long enough and ready to face refusal.

FORTUNATELY, this automatic revocation provision has been asked to be removed by women's groups very surprisingly, the Canadian Bar Association
and Polysesouvient themselves in their brief.

So I would definitely expect its removal as a Liberal amendment.

If it goes through tens of thousands of license holders will find themselves without a license, some unexpectedly, I was still finding people who were affected but ignorant of this provision 6 months later, was quite shocking.

At this point I don't really don't care about being denied, as long as I'll have a chance to apply again, it's all good.

Sent the pal application in mail on Nov 25th.
RCMP received on Dec 12th
Approved on Jan 09 - no reference check
Got PAL in mail on Feb 14( after 2 calls) last call they said they sent it on Feb 06.
I have a question, do I have to keep the original with me or I can just carry a copy and leave the original in SAFE?

RPAL. Just asked the status, nothing else. I told them that I can see that is approved on the website and how much longer till the card is home.

Does anybody know the various online statuses after a PAL application has been submitted? Mine currently says "Application Successfully Submitted". What comes after that - "Application Approved"?

It should be "We have completed the initial review of your firearms licence application. If additional information is required, you will be contacted. Please check the status again at a later date" and if you are in Ontario you will be seeing this message for a loooooooong time. :bangHead:

Application RPAL

Hi

My application was received last April 22. My credit card was charged July 22. Initial review Aug 6. Still nothing. And no way to get through on the phone. I’ve pretty much let it go at this point. A giant waste of time and money and course study.

Hello everyone, I FINALLY got my PAL in the mail! Took exactly 4 months to get, I live in Alberta.

Final PAL Alberta Timeline Update (non-restricted):
Application sent express mail: June 24, 2022
Application received by RCMP: June 30, 2022
CC Charged and initial review: Sept 15 2022
Application approved/issued: October 5 2022
Finally have license in hand: October 25 2022

Good luck everyone! And thanks to everyone for their help. Still debating if I am going to do the restricted.

I’ve heard through several gun shops that the RCMP isn’t processing any more applications, and hasn’t been for months. Doesn’t matter that my application was received well before any of these new measures were taken by the Trudeau liberals. My application was received last April 22, my credit card was charged in July, and the initial review was processed in August. Still nothing, and no way to get through on the phone.

this doesn't make any sense because many people (including myself) have been approved since then. my advise is to keep calling or email your cfo.

Your information would be incorrect. I know plenty of people, including myself, that have been approved for a PAL and RPAL in the last couple of months.

Have you tried emailing your CFO to ask if there is a problem?

Ok good, thanks. I’ll email the CFO

I’ve had no contact of any kind from the RCMP that there is any issue with my application, or missing information
