PAL Wait Time

Well it takes a lot to impress this old guy these day's, my PAL expires in Sept so I thought I better get at it given that there are lot's of threads about it taking 4 - 6 months or more.
Mar 1 - Send via Canada Post Snail Mail
Mar 6 - Received and given Initial approval
Mar 15 - Credit Card charged renewal fee
Mar 23 - PAL issued and mailed - post marked Mar 24
Mar 28 - In my hand this morning.
Fastest turn around time in history for me:
In 2024 it took 27 days
In 2019 it took 94 days
In 2014 it took 108 days
Either they are getting more efficient or they are just taking pity on us old guy's, I'm impressed

Feb 20/21- completed CRFC/CRFSC
Mar 10 - CFSC/CRFSC results came in the mail
Mar 11 - Applied online and all references confirmes the same day
Apr 18 - License Issued
To note i am in Ontario and i did check off "Yes" to previously being arrested but that charges were dropped etc.
I did call the CFO around April 10th who told me they have everything and it was about a 6 month backlog. I was expected it based off all the comments in here and reddit. But i called them the next week and was told ot was approved and sent to new brunswisk to be printed and mailed out. I think i lucked out tbh

Yeah i called the main line 1800 731 4000 with extension 7503. That directs the call to the CFO. First time i called was in the morning and it will never go through. Try calling around 11-1pm found that to be the best time when your call goes through and not getting the voice mail saying we are too busy.

Submitted my RPAL renewal applicaion on Novmeber 19, 2023. Credit Card charged and initial review completed on November 28, 2023.
Called CFP April 10, 2024 and transfered to Ontario CFO. Told by CFO that application is assigned to an officer with no further status information available or explanation for delay. CFO phone rep said an email would be sent to the officer requesting update.
RPAL expires today with no changes posted to online renewal application status since November 28, 2023. No contact from CFO or officer to date.
I will try calling CFP / CFO again today.

Just spoke with Ontario CFO representative over the phone and expressed my concern that my RPAL expires today. He said an officer needs to speak with me about "concerns they have" before approving the renewal.
He would not tell me anything about what these "concerns" are.
Nothing has changed about my situation or eligibility since previous renewal or the initial license approval.
Now the waiting for a phone call from an officer begins.
Very stressful situation to be in with an expired license when I have done nothing wrong.

update!!
finally was able to get on the phone with on cfo after a few days with no answer, they told me that they needed another pic of my id and to send it via email. later that night check status and showed approved and pal should come in the mail soon!!

current status - We have completed the initial review of your firearms license application.
Called the CFO today and was told that I would have to wait for the 6 month backlog and after August I can call and they will do a manual review....

Hi guys just have a question
I have PAL license, I did complete the RPAL in March 10, and filled out the application form and send it on April 17
They got it 2 days later
How long does it take to show up on my portal when I log in
