I was just wondering if any one else in Alberta has had a 100 day plus wait on there pal recently? My paper work was received oct 18th and went to the CFO fairly quickly, I think 30 days or so. It's crazy to think they can't process some paperwork within 70 days. I've been calling and asking about the progress of it but get the same answers each time. Someone out the that can point me in the right direction of who is should be calling?

Just keep doin what your doin man, MY file took 10 months! there was some BS involved such as them "Losing" my file im pretty sure but i called about 15 times and THEN finally got a call back after 30 minutes of hanging up the phone with them. But remember be patient and polite with them if u wanna get your card in the mail :)

I just got mine last week, took less than 2 months. Mailed on Dec 4th, online said rec'd on Dec 10th (even though it only showed up on like Jan 10th or so), got my card on Jan 25th (in Alberta). Granted, I had called them to ask if they had gotten my application or not since my Canada Post tracking never updated. I called to ask since I didn't know if CP had lost it and I would need to send another one. The lady on the phone said that she would put a note to their supervisor to check and get back to me. Then my online status changed pretty soon after and then things went really really quickly.

Now I don't know if mine got sped up cause I didn't know if it was lost or not (she had asked me for the tracking number to see if I was lying or not I think)

Alberta> sept 10 - dec 24
My RPAL was held up because of the people i put down as reference, when the CFO called to interview them during the middle of the day when every normal person works, they would get the answering machine. If a person doesnt have a personal answering machine recording with their full name the CFO will not leave a message.
So i had to get my reference people to call in on their own.
I've now been waiting over 5 weeks for LTATT on my first restricted. WTF alberta CFO?

I'd say this is too long. My courses were complete beginning of April last year, it wasn't sent in right away and I was away for work during the summer but I had mine in hand by the July in the mail earlier than that, I was gone from June, I think it arrived mid-June. I think they received mine sometime in May and it was completed mid-june/july. I know I was gun shopping in early July with it.

The cfo does call people during the day once reference missed his call while at the dentist, tried calling back and not getting anywhere. I called and said you just called my reference 2 hours ago, he's been trying since and can't reach anyone can someone please call him back he's available and waiting now.

You do need to keep on top of it and keep track of what the cfo & your references are doing. I didn't do any of the 'how to speed up' tips because I knew I'd be away and getting the pal wouldn't help in the long run.
But with all my issues if you consider my course complete April 1st-purchasing my restricted in July that gives you a picture of a reasonable timeline.

When I applied this year, I watched the tracking site and as soon as it was received I called to enquire. You can also log on to the RRCMP website and check the status. When it was entered and I had my number, I had my references call for their interview. One of my references was asked if he signed my application and he forgot and said no, but then he corrected himself and it was ok. Just make sure when you have your references call to do the interview that you remind them of what they filled out and signed. Be courteous at all times with the staff, they can make you or break you, but be dilligent and don't follow the timelines they give you. If they say call back in two weeks, call back in two days.

I've been waiting since Sept 16th for mine and its now FEB and I expire in under 2 weeks.

The waits are absolutely retarded given the fact sure I had an incident, but they returned my PAL to me and nothing has happened since (3 years) so there is no reason for such a delay.

Ugh an our tax dollars pay these peoples wages and this is what we all get in return.......ridiculous!!!!!!!

mine took 132 days in BC, i got the same bs answers every time i called . they said they were too busy to keep up. one day the status on the website changed from ( in progress ) to ( approved ) and 5 days later , it came in the mail.

Grove I'd call them and ask what's up. Read the thread on speeding it up to be safe, but call them up and get on them. No reason you should expire when they're holding the papers that long. If your incident was relevant I would expect them to be on it, not sitting around wasting time.

In Ontario it took me 28days.
App received on Jan 3rd
Called me on 30th for my interview. My 1st ref called on Jan 30th and 2nd on 31st. Ontario CFO approved it same day. License shows up as issued and online on 31st.

Now just waiting for it to arrive in mail.

Mine took over a year, due to being lost during the time when the Alberta CFO wasn't available for some reason. My application got routed to BC, then I was told I had to talk to the Alberta CFO. It was then routed again to the Albert CFO's office. I called about 3-4 times and was either told that they are still reviewing my application, or I was hung up on after 30 minutes or more of being on hold.

I really think they had just lost my file in the transfer. Eventually I just found my licence in the mail one day... What a messed up system.
