Paper Patching Cast .309 for .312?

In most cases paper patching will add more to the dia. then .002" usually more like .008" or so, I have played with paper patching .301" bullets up to .310" in trying to reach 3000fps with accuracy, however i was never able to equal the accuracy of a proper sized and loaded grooved, gas check, cast bullet, IMHO.

You might, but the style of bullet might not work very well. In my experience it is easier to paper patch a long bodied bullet, such as the Loverin style, rather than a bore riding style that the 311334 is. You could do it, as being slightly oversize is usually not a problem with paper patching.
All I could suggest is that you give it a try. I used regular paper (typing, photocopier, printing) and you could cut some sample patches with scissors.

For high velocity cast bullets use teflon plumbers tape and be sure to wrap in the proper direction so the rifling twist tightens the tape not unwraps it.I have an indepth article in The art of Bullet casting "Wolff Publishing" they managed 3000fps MOA with no leading .................never tried it yet? You can also roll jacketed bullets on a steel plate with a bastard file to rough up the jacket and paper patch to larger calibers and get hunting accuracy.........................Harold
