What’s everyone using for paper targets when doing load development and such these days? Since red star disappeared from the market I find myself struggling to find an alternative that I like as much as the triple three.
Orange sticky dots on cardboard.
With Red Star gone I ended up making my own. I’ve made all kinds and printed on a variety of sizes and paper at work. I use a drafting program so my MOA targets are actually MOA at said distance, same with my Mil targets. I scale up and down everything from 50yards up to 300 yards (can do further just haven’t bothered to yet)
I have done a couple up to look like the red star designs as well as my own creations. I make a monster 36”x48” target that I print on tyvek at work. I think I managed to get 12 mil targets on it. I use it for testing different ammo and loads for accuracy. Even designed a column into the side for writing down load data and such.
Card stock is a great choice if you can print on it. At home or go to the local staples. I also use 11x17 size paper allot because I have a bunch from my drafting days.
I’ve thought about adding downloadable target pdfs to my photography/writing website but haven’t figured out how to do it and been off work injuried for almost a year and haven’t had access to AutoCAD to tweak things.

What does someone use to pattern test a shotgun? I’ve tried a 2’x2’ piece of cardboard and made a stencil to quickly mark lines.
Should I only shot it once or 3-5 per sheet?
I like your one with the 12 dots. Mil or MOA?
