A light on a handgun is a superfluous expense. Think in terms of a high priced decoration.
I'm not seeing a Para-Ordnance .45 ACP Canadian Forces Edition on their site. Why it'd be a .45 is another question. Marketing likely. Para-Ordnance doesn't care about Canadian shooters.

Even though Im probably never going to have to implement this... Having a light on my gun gives me the feeling that you give someone a target to aim at...

Id rather hold a flashlight off to the side myself, away from my body...

Para has been running several pistol programs for all sorts of MIL and LE units/services including the CF as 'Service Appreciation' pistols, along with TF specific runs as well.

The pistol runs aren't shown on their regular product lineup on their website.

False logic there.

The idea of a tactical light (whether mounted or handheld) is that it is sufficiently bright enough to completely blind your target. If you have ever been suddenly flashed by a light over say 40 or 50 lumens you will know that you cannot accurately identify the source for at least a few long seconds. Holding the light away from you only weakens your stance and grip and greatly increases the chance you'll miss.

Sure lights are a luxury toy, but pistols are exactly that in Canada anyway.
If you are going to use one at home for potential self defense, you certainly won't harm aything by using a light, but you have to be aware of the risk of flashing yourself in a hallway or room and reducing your own night vision.

And the CF Appreciation deal has been running for a couple of years. Para has several custom runs going in any particular year, and they are a great deal for the price.

The laser is want I want the most but if im going to spen that much money I should get both for just a few bucks more... Unless you guys have other alternatives.

Yeah its a superfluous expense and so is the Gun in the fist place... So is having 2 cars and I could keep going... lol...

So here is a picture from the gun I took off this site... Mine is on order :)

Isn't Para offering a light and holster as well?

I've used my TRL1 on my Para for about 3 months now. I need to find a good holster for the gun with and without my light mounted. Any suggestions? My Serpa won't fit the gun.

Here's my mission edition...

I was in Kandahar for three tour rotations: 2-07, 1-08, 2-08 and the beginning of 1-09. Each rotation had the opportunity to purchase various Mil/LE Para editions. Roto 1-08 chose a .45 Cal Single and a .40 Cal LDA.

My .45 Para single/single. The .40 Cal. LDA's are still in production.

Notice the Roto issue on the rear of the slide- Task Force 1-08:

The various Rotos chose different finishes: Coyote, black parkerized and stainless. Each Roto has the Roto issue engraved on the slide. There was even a blank version of the .45 Cal. selected by Roto 1-08 Battlegroup and PRT

Do they come in any other colors?

Not this year. Last years deal had a black .40 cal. You can always call and see if any are left.

They turn up on the EE once in a while too, but most guys are asking a big premium over the actual purchase price.

Crimson Trace laser grip, X300 light, Raven Holster - everything you could ever want.

Dude these look sick... and dont have the bulky look.

WOW :D I think I just made up my mind... They have a military version for the same price. Dont know if there is any difference. I did send them an email.
