Para-cord trigger job ?

Hey guys,
It has been mentioned in the black/green rifle section that a quick and easy way to smooth out the trigger on the AR15 is to apply the para-cord treatment. How exactly does it work? Where do I put the piece of rope? I'm a rather visual person, so if one of you would be nice enough to make a little pictorial I would be ever grateful.

My trigger is rather lacking in the smoothness department...

I'm not going to make a photo pictorial but here's how to do it.Take your lower off the upper.
Take a length of paracord or some other strong type of cord and loop it under the spur on the hammer.
#### the hammer by pushing it down until it clicks into the fire position.Wrap the cord around your hand.
And pull up on it as hard as you can while squeezing the trigger.It will be very hard to squeeze.Keep pulling on the cord and squeezing until the trigger breaks.
Using your finger or a cloth or something prevent the hammer from slamming into the frame of the lower.Repeat this process until you have a noticeable difference in smoothness.
This 25 cent trigger job smooths out the machining marks on the sears.It may make things smoother but will not make your pull lighter.

I used a foam earplug in front of the hammer to prevent it from smashing into the lower - works perfect!

I was skeptical before I tried it, but I can say for CERTAIN it smooths out the pull.

I've done "The $0.50 AR Trigger Job" from junkyard genius (google is your friend) on my AR and gone through one service rifle shooting match with success. But I haven't fully modified the back of the trigger, just leave it standard.

I use and advocate the "catch and release" method, no gadgets, just ensure your weak hand catches the hammer on the forward motion when trigger is released.

Do this 1000 times (cheaper than firing 1000 rds of ammo at the range) especially during a hockey game!

I can say "Para-cord trigger job" helps smoothing the trigger (I've done this first after reading the post in black rifle forum long ago) and "The $0.50 AR Trigger Job" helps shorten the trigger pull (done it before my first SR shooting match).

When you say the spur of the hammer, you mean the hook looking thing? I just pull straight up and pull the trigger at the same time?

Re - the $.50 AR trigger job - This uses a setscrew in the pistol grip screw hole to push up on the tail of the trigger, thereby reducing the amount of engagement, and the amount of creep.
If you look in your Brownells catalogue, they sell a grip retaining screw which is drilled through, with an Allen headed screw fitted within it. The setup can be adjusted using a long Allen wrench up through the pistol grip. Not a $.50 job if you buy the kit.
Just experimented with this on one of my lowers.
The grip screw threads are 1/4 -28, not the 1/4-20 mentionned in the link. be careful and check.
I made two 1/4-28 setscrews. Threaded one in until the setscrew pushed the trigger into contact with the safety (safety on). Threaded the other setscrew up against the first one to lock it in place. No Loctite. Even without the modification to the trigger tail, the letoff is noticeably shorter with less creep. Altering the trigger to allow the setscrew to further reduce trigger engagement would make for an even shorter pull.
Just be careful, though.
