Went out shooting today and after about the third time loading my para mag the plastic follower broke in half, is this normal for para mags, and if so what are good replacement mags.

I'm not sure if its "normal" but it doesn't sound like something I would be approving of. I watched a guy a couple years back snap the barrel bushing on his brand new Para (CCW745 if I recall) after only 5 rounds.

I have 5 Para's, used for IPSC with dozens of Para magazines, I've never seen a follower break in the tens of thousands of rounds that I've put through them.
Plastic bases are another story.
Those would break on a regular basis until replaced by Viper bases.:runaway:

No I've never had a failure of this sort, but I do hate their plastic followers. I feel they impede reliability based on their shape. But that's another story.

Call Para for instructions... they will make it right- for free.

well I own a ssp Para, the factory mag is a little cheep in my opinion, I never use the factory my. I have some chip Mc Cormick Power mags, Those are the cats ass and the folowers are steel......Buy a good mag and don't sweet the plastic factory crap.
