What is the general view of a Canadian made Para Ordnance 16-40 Limited good or bad?
What little I have found on the internet it seems good but some have had extractor problems and some didn't like the later updated extractors.
I know that Para as of 2015 is no longer in business but if it is a 1911 then I would assume that after market 1911 parts would work in the Para so I should be able to keep it going if there was any problems.
Any info would be appreciated.

I have one in stainless and it's one of my favorites and it functions flawlessly. Bought it used in excellent condition except for a little metal flaking on the barrel bushing but it's not even visible when installed in the gun. I've had it for a couple years now and I honestly don't recall ever having a single issue with it that I can remember anyway.

I know of post-Canadian built Para 16-40s has issues, generalizing all models (sorry PARA loyalists, this is my opinion). There are still some that functions with minimal to no issues at all. Even a friend of mine who is a Firearms Training Instructor and a Senior RO out west discouraged me from getting a PARA after moving out of Canada with same questionable quality issues. Not sure of the newer built Para after Remington came out of bankruptcy. I would suggest: If somebody offering you a Canadian-built P16-40, try it. Grab some ammos of varying powder loads and brands. Try it and decide. The seller will tell you all the good points, maybe a few bad ones just to get rid of the gun if he is hiding something.

I have a P16-40 used it for years it has been flawless no better or worse than my C'olts , STI , Nolan , Bear or Browns. Mine was Canadian manufacture before ex Toronto mayor drove them out of Ontario. Parts are not a problem . Double Tap Sports stocks and builds some quality add on parts.
