Anyone have expereince with these...there is one for sale locally and its the canadian version...asking $800...fair price? Feels good in hand but I dont kow enough about them to pull the trigger...yet..lol!

Great gun. I have a 16-40 limited and it’s a very good shooter. Nice crisp trigger. A tack driver.

800$ is a very Good price. I’d go for it without any 2nd thoughts.

I liked it so much I bought a para 9mm to match it.

Isn't their a problem with Para and quality control issues? I read a few years back stay Para as they use MIM ( Metal injection molding ) basically metal and plastic stuffed into a mould

I had one. a Canadian made P16.40 version some years ago and as i shot it more, pieces started falling off or breaking. After I sent it back to Para for warranty work twice, i decided to sell it. Then I started hearing of more issues that I had not experienced with mine. I would go cautiously on this one, do your research.

Yes, both front and rear sights came off, safety broke and severe peening of the slide stop cut which began to curl back at the corner. Para said that the peening was no big deal, but a local gunsmith thought the slide was too soft and would not hold up to the slide stop engaging the cut on an empty magazine. Frequently, I will look at used Para's to see if they exhibit signs of the same thing and they do. Much later on, fellow IPSC competitors would report cracking slides.

My first IPSC pistol was a Para P1640 Limited. I've put thousands and thousands of rounds through it over a decade and the only problem I had with it was the front sight drifted eventually. I replaced the front sight anyway and I keep the pistol in my safe as a back up to my current primary IPSC pistol.

$800 might be a touch high but it depends on how new or used it is.
