I just bought a new Para PXT LTC in SS off gunnar (ARMCO). One of the major deciding factors for me (besides the fact that it is really shiny) is that Para is a Canadian company, and they have a good reputation. I don't mind that they cater mostly to an American market, thats how they stay in business. I'm just glad to be supporting a reputable Canadian handgun maker, of which there are not to many.

I think PARA caters only to the American Market... how is it that Kimber will call my home and offer to send me anything I want for spare parts (within reason - I got an extractor and firing pin - free shipping), but Para won't even reply to an email?
Kimber is American and I am sure they sell a hell of a lot more than PARA in the US, yet Kimber still takes the time to deal with Canadians on an almost personal level. On another occasion I was once referred to Kimber rep as the Meprolight distributer for the US - I again got a phone call from someone high-up in the Meprolight/Kimber department to respond directly to my question about Meprolight Night Sights!! WTF!! They knew I was Canadian and they were still treating me so well. I was so impressed and will go on record as saying Kimber has the best customer support service of any firearm company I have ever experienced.
I am not knocking the PARA pistol, I am sure they are well made and quality. I wanted one (I emailed several different times to try and locate a dealer in Canada but never had a single reply) If buying Canadian means being treated like crap and tossed aside... I'll take the US pistol who has earned my respect with friendly, awesome customer service.
Where's the Cdn homegrown effort for law abiding Canadians ?

they've been somewhat supportive of IPSC in Canada as far as I know. And I got a certificate years back for 50% off a gun at my first gunshow. Problem was I couldn't give it away. No one was interested, and evenetually the cert became stale dated.
I find it odd that Para's are cheaper in the US than in Canada.

My shop stocks all kinds of para's so I don't have to contact them, and has never been a problem. I can't fault you for shopping somewhere else due to customer service issues though, I do the same thing. It would be nice if Para was more vocal of their support of Canadian's and their shooting sports and related issues.

Really, I understand why they cater to the US market, I would do the same thing. But I would be courteous to "other" potential customers (in this case, Canadian) by at least answering email inquiries.
To not answer a legitimate email inquiry, even if to say "sorry, we can't sell to you" is nothing short of rude.
Para sucks big time. Most of you thing that was the size different of market between USA and Canada. Infact I don't think so. LL Bean and Cabelas provide equal excellent customer service all over the world, no matter where you live. Do they make good gun, I don't know. But I do know none of our Canadian Law enforcment or army use their gun. Shame on Para.

It's fine if they don't give diddly squat about us. I don't understand why anyone would expect them to otherwise. It's their business and they have the choice to cater or provide service to whomever they want, Canadian or otherwise.
FYI I don't have a PARA... oh and their mags suck balls.
