I was looking at a AR or AR style rifle for plinking at the range or potentially shooting 3 gun. I like the look of the Para TTR but I dont know anyone who has fired one. How does it compare to say something like a stag or rock river. Or is it even available in canada

I don't think it is available anywhere,, they haven't started to produce them yet.
Some of the more experienced guys(I'm not) have tried out the ZM piston system and well, it isn't a wonder drug AR....so...
In my books, a plain ol AR is great. If a company wants to build something, at least make some real innovation.

The thing that intrigues me is the placement of the recoil spring assembly above the barrel instead of inside the upper reciever which eliminates the need for the buffer tube. It is not a piston but some form of "delayled impingment" system. I can not judge it until I can get my greasy mitts on it and inspect it up close and shoot the sh*t out of it. It looks interesting and I can only hope it comes in 7.62 one day.
