I'm not sure what practical use it would have for hunting in its intended application (#4 buckshot). Maybe for coyotes? It would be a great way to paunch shoot a deer - regular buckshot patterns are risky enough. I would know, I hunt deer exclusively with buckshot.
Now if there was a steel shot friendly version (there doesn't appear to be), this sort of spread would be interesting to try when pass shooting sea ducks. Theoretically, you could punch a huge hole in the flock, if you had your elevation right.
