Parallax Question

I have some what of an idea of what Parallax is, and I know if you shoot at like 50yards you should have a Parallax that's set to 50yards.
My question is, if you buy a scope that's set to be Parallax free at 50yards, would there be a problem when shooting at 100 yards?

Probably.

A scope that is parallax zeroed at 100 or 150 yards doesn't tend to show too much error at longer distances. A scope that is parallax zeroed at 50 yards is likely designed for .22 rf. You really need adjustable parallax for a .22 if you are going to shoot it between 25 and 100 yards because this is where parallax error is most pronounced.

You can shoot with a non parrallex adjustable scope. Your sight picture however has to be perfect or your Point of Aim will change.

Although I have very limited training with rifles, I was fortunate that they still taught the basics and sight picture was the first thing they taught. If your sight picture is good you can still get the job done. It does however take a lot more time and discipline.

Ultimately an adjustable objective (AO) scope with a parrallex setting down to 25 yards and out is the way to go. Higher end rim fire scopes do this. Also higher end centerfire scopes often go down to 50 yards these days.
