ParaTorture Test 1,000 rds in 10 minutes 44 seconds

Did any of you notice Jarett bump firing the gun with his left index finger. Unless you really got a hold of the gun that would hurt the digit in a big away.

I understand he did quite a number on his trigger finger, as in a burn. I wonder, aside from the discolouriing, if it did any damage to the barrel beyond just normal 1,000 rd wear.

Wonder how many malfunctions. None shown in the video, and I would expect there were none.

There was a poster on CGN who was recommending to someone not to buy a 1911 because they were so unreliable. Hahahahahahahaha.

I figured I had Todd beat until I read about the 5,000 rds. I got over 2,000 rds through my SSP without any kind of failure too. Course it took me a couple of years to get there but still he only did 1,000 rds in 10 minutes, 44 seconds no telling how long it will take him to catch up.:D

Yeah, what a crazy thought. An unreliable 1911 is about as common as an honest liberal...

Have you consistantly used the same type of ammo or different types?

Hi

Everything from factory 230 gr Ball to my reloads consisting of 220 gr RN lead to 200 gr LSWC (Lyman's two variants and Lee). All have gone through my Para SSP like hot butter. I naver had a failure with my P - 14 either at around 5,000 rds. Son has it now over in Ft. McMurray ans he hasn't run into any either.

Para makes a solid gun. Like any mechanical device you can have problems and when you do Para has a lifetime guarantee.

What has impresses me most about my Paras is their accuracy. For mid entry guns they certainly are capable of outshooting most shooters. The guns have two features I like, the ramped barrel and the PXT extractor which is huge and works.

I have three brands of 1911's and the Para gives nothing away to the other two. If they are within your budget, meet your requirements then they are worth a look.

I like their Tac Five and may go with it in SSP this year in IDPA.

If you did it under 10 minutes 44 seconds then you are a new world record holder.:D I suspect your Glock would be melting in your hand about the time your barrel reached 550 degrees F

Well if they ever seize our handguns it is good to know we can bury our Glocks in the backyard and know they will be ready for the next revolution.:D If they would just change the grip on the gun I would buy one.

In the current issue of Handguns 2008 Annual, not sure if it is available here yet, my dad just brought it back form Florida, Patrick Sweeny, very well known gun writer and gunsmith, did a year long torture test on a Novak built Hi-Power and put over 21,000 rounds though it with only 2 malfunctions, one being a bad mag spring and the other shoot error. I would say that is pretty good. When all is said and done, the hi-Power is always there to come back to.
