So I tried it out today. Used 50 rds of the #4 cheap stuff from Wallmart. Everything cycled perfectly. I was surprised how close the grouping was at 50yds. I'm no expert with shotguns but it would certainly hit small game at that distance. It's only got a 18.5" barrel. 00buck at 50yds got 6 out of 9 balls on target, 15yds of course was devastating. Typical 12ga. recoil, but with the supplied rubber butt I could shoot it all day, unlike the old Cooey single shot I used to have where maybe 4-5 shots was it for me. I would recommend this shotgun for sure. For the price it was a good buy. So altogether put 60rds thro it, not a whole lot but it's a start.

60 rounds and you don't even feel sore? that sounds like a pretty good shotgun. I am the opposite of an expert but from what I have read up on 6 of 9 #00 buck on target at 50 yards with an 18.5 inch barrel is a WIN. Can't wait to get mine and shoot a couple hundred cheap rounds through it to break it in.

I was really surprised. The last time I used a shotgun ( the old cooey ) it was a new adventure in pain. I think you said you were looking at a Mossy, which would be nice to shoot also. BTW I'm 65 so if it's painless for me, well.........:D
