Paring a Norinco Lower with an NEA Upper (7.62x39)

Will you get to try before you buy?

Even with some other US makers I have first hand experience of some lowers not perfectly matching uppers from another brand.
And these two manufacturers are not known for precise tolerances.

Just want to avoid a Romeo Juliette pairing.

SFRC has sweet lowers made by them, I would use them, keep the money in Canada.

Saw those too but they're stripped and out of stock. The Norinco comes complete and there was 1 left. For $260 shipped, I'll be the guinea pig.

When I start replacing parts, the stock Norc stuff will go in a box for my future spare parts build which seems to be what most of the AR addicts do.

I'll update this thread when I try pairing them.

I want to get into the AR game, shooting IPSC rifle matches more specifically and I was looking at a simple build.

A Norinco complete lower and then an NEA 7.62x39 complete upper (14.5"). I can buy the lower first (on sale right now) and then pickup the upper in the fall. I'd save roughly $200 this way as opposed to buying a complete NEA AR.

Has anyone done this? What's the quality like on the Norinco ARs? I had a DA 1911 and I wasn't too impressed but I guess I shouldn't have expected much for a $350 pistol.

I'd appreciate any feedback.

Cheers

your norinco deserves better

I've been pricing out AR components and even the cheapest stuff at CTCS adds up quickly. Better = Expensive, no?

that was a joke, a dig at NEA.

btw, CTCS has some cool stuff but their pricing is ridiculous on some stuff. if you are price conscious, shop around.

Ive seen first hand guys with norinco ARs and a bit of experience beat dudes with 3000 dollar ARs in competition. Theyre perfectly fine, finish is a bit rough but who cares if its a hard use gun. For the price they cant be beat.
