Well after reading a few threads on sxs's I kinda had a bug to get one. I knew my sister in laws grandfather had on old sxs that he was looking to get rid of. I asked about it and he said yes he was willing to sell it but neither of us knew what it was. Just an old sxs was the idea we both thought so I offerd what I thought was a good fair price and home it came . Upon some research I have a Parker Bros vh 12 gauge in excellent shape although iam rather certain the but stock has been replaced and the main frame blued. Over all I am very pleased.
 
No case but on the receiver sides yes . It's a VH grade 30" barrels .yes I have pics but haven't put them on photo bucket yet lol.
 
I've never heard that for the name sake of case colouring. I was told it was a derivative from case hardening in my welding schooling. But I suppose it sort of makes sense

Yes, depending on the model and grade, value can be all over the place. Originality and condition will have a hughe impact on value. I sold a VH grade last year that was in your typical used condition from that era. I had a hard time getting $450.00 for it.

Unfortunately, thats Canada for ya!! The States is where these shotguns are most treasured and valued. I have several parkers, one, A "GH" (grade 2) 12 gauge, all original (NOT the one I currently have for sale), show's use of course, but very very nice condition for a 1906 gun. I paid $900, and it was purchased here in Canada, less condition guns sell for $2000 plus in the states...I saw one go for almost $4000, that wasn't as good as mine!!!

And because of that, people here in Canada need to understand, that if you come across a Parker, and ask advice from the guys on the Parker forum, You may get a value on your gun...but that value..may only be true, if it's sold in the States, or you're willing to export to the USA...don't expect to easily get those prices here in this country! Some people will pay it...die hard parker collectors etc....But for the most part... True Parker Shotgun Value, is a thing of the States.

Very true and holds true for pretty much any vintage double sold in Canada.

Yes I've noticed the prices are hugely different from here to the U.S. But the opposite is true for the Springfield m6 scout guns. As much as half in the cheaper direction.
