Parker Hale 1936-7 243 heavy barrel question

BNP means Birmingham Nitro proof. No other stamps so just a 70s-ish rifle. At 10lbs before putting on the scope of it doesn't turn out to be a good shooter it will make a good club or prey bar.

The PHs generally shoot very well. The adjustable single stage PH trigger gives a very decent pull.
You might be very pleased with it.

I've had 1200's with both sporter barrels and heavy barrels, they shot well above their pay grade

I have a parts listing - so the PH 1000, 1100 and 1200 all would get exact same part number as replacement part - for everything except the stocks - all three were available with detachable magazine or with hinged floor plate. So, ID today appears to be only about the stock. Discard the original stock and install in a Boyd's or other stock and who knows whether it was 1000, 1100 or 1200 - I think.

Prior to those designations there were also "safari" and "safari super" - not really certain how they fitted into the PH model designation system.

Best quality I could get. The recoil pad was dry and crumbling, I'm in the process of making a new one from scratch
It had hard treatment by a previous owner, I'd like to refinish it but the current owner says it gives it character. :(

Have the same rifle in a different chambering, was essentially new when I got it, my grandfather put a few shells through it and it sat for 50 years until I received it. Theyre excellent rifles, the triggers are very nice as well once adjusted. Mines a keeper for sure, came with a bunch of magazines and a spare stock, although it’s more traditional styled.

You likely have to check under the barrel, close to the action to see the viewer's mark and determine the YOM.

The bottom picture is under the barrel, there is no other marks anywhere on the barrel, action or in or on the stock or bolt.

R-39### serial number would date to approx 1975/1976.

All the PH Santa Barbara actions were serial numbered in Spain and PH just used the numbers as given.

Thanks, that's what I'm finding out.
