I have a PH that I'm having a terrible time getting the action & barrel separated from the stock. I've taken the screws out from the bottom and I can lift the barrel partly out of the stock. The receiver will not budge, it's as though the stock has swollen (it's not bedded... yet). I want to get it out and redo the barrel float and bed the receiver properly but I'm stuck. Any ideas how I can get this thing apart?

Yes. I am assuming that you have the Parker Hale with the detachable magazine ( a "clip"). There is an allen head screw up inside, above the release. You have to tap out the release cross pin with a proper size punch. When the release slides out of its slot, the little spring behind often comes with it. Then, up inside that slot is the small allen head screw - 3/32" allan wrench, I think. When the action does come apart, there is a spacer that will be loose - that is the spacer that the little screw goes up through - it is a spacer between the top of the trigger guard rear assembly and the underside of the action. I have also seen where that spacer is brazed / soldered on to the underside of the action. Don't strip that one - it is a British thread - a #4 BA size, if I recall correctly, perhaps a #5 BA size.
