Just curious what one of these sportered 303s in good condition go for these days. Saw a nice looking example at my local shop yesterday and if it sits around for a while I might become interested in buying it,well actually already am. $400 flat and comes with a decent scope mounted but forgot to take note of the make or model.

$400 is the high end of the PH 303 scale, I have one that I picked up cheap and it turns out the chamber is bad and a few extra holes tapped in the action from some poor scope mounting, it's about a $100 rifle but looks good from far.

Good condition= about $250-300, but Id get someone to check the go/no-go gauges on it before offering cash on another one of these.

I'd definitely be taking a closer look at the rifle if I'm going to buy it. Considering optics can be several hundred dollars they alone may be a large selling point. It's been an old fellows deer rifle for some years so I know it can shoot.

I gave just over $300 for one with PH mounts and rings, so that was a good deal if you like those rings and mounts (I do) and a little high otherwise. You might find one in a condition worth having for less than $200 but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that - it may happen tomorrow or years from now.

If the scope on the one you are looking at contributes enough $400 may be a good price to buy at.

Actually, with scope mounts installed, would be worth around $100 more depending on their condition, with optics that may not be a bad price.

Go for it..

It's curiosity more than anything but I'm sure I've seen that rifle there for over a year now and if it's still there in a few months I'll probably have to buy it. Picked up a set of 303 dies when I got the 7.62x54 dies since they only come with a 308 neck sizer. Can't let good dies go to waste so...

Shameless plug here but it is a related response to OP's question.
